Jazz in Europe has a putative father, the Manouche guitar player Django Reinhardt.
His recordings contain the seeds of all European jazz to come. One of the rare cultural heroes of Roma people in the world of gadjos, Django is a unique, rich and mostly unknown personality.
Using rare videos, audio recordings and images jazz historian Francesco Martinelli will present his inspirations, his relation with French music in the XX Century, and his visionary final phase.
