From today until 14 October, young musicians interested in jazz and improvised music, can apply for the regional educational program Music Meeting to be held from 2 to 6 November within the 20th Jazz Fest Sarajevo 2016.
Music Meeting applications can be submitted at this link. The program is aimed for musicians and music students of age 18 to 35, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Macedonia.
Program participants will take part in numerous activities including workshops and talks with international artists – the festival´s guests. Music Meeting will also enable them to perform with other participants which is an opportunity for potential future collaboration between regional musicians, representing one of the goals of this program.
Musicians accepted to the program will have their travel costs as well as accommodation costs in a hotel in Sarajevo covered and they will be able to attend all 20th Jazz Fest Sarajevo 2016 programs with no charge.
The Music Meeting was established in 2012. In the past years it was recognized as an unique platform for young musicians in the broader region, which gathered so far more than 200 young people. This year´s program was made possible with the support of our partners at the American Embassy in Sarajevo and the Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina.
