In the category Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media, drummer and composer Antonio Sanchez won a Grammy for his compositions for the film Birdman. For the music he composed for Alejandro Iñárritu’s movie, Sanchez was nominated for the Golden Globe, BAFTA Award and the Oscar, but eventually had to leave the Oscar race due to a disqualification, because the soundtrack for this movie contains around 30 min of non original music, in this case classical compositions, which is contrary to the rules of the above mentioned award.
