Spend your Saturday at XX1st Jazz Fest

And Saturday will, like the previous days at XX1st Jazz Fest 2017, be marked by seven festival programs, of which six will be organized at the Festival Center in Dom policije venue.

At 12.00, Italian historian Francesco Martinelli will hold a lecture on Italian opera and jazz, and at 13.15 Slovenian sociologist Ičo Vidmar will present his study of New Music in New York.

The first concert on Saturday will be held at 15.00, with B&H singer Nataša Mirković, French multi-instrumentalist Michel Godard and US percussionist Jarrod Cagwin, who will perform as a trio En El Amor the repertoire of traditional Sephardic ballads.

At 19.00 another B&H artist, accordionist Mario Batković will perform a solo concert at his first Jazz Fest concert, and after that at 20.00 the trio Thumbscrew with the excellent guitarist Mary Halvorson, bassist Michael Formanek and drummer Tomas Fujiwara will perform at the main festival stage.

The solo concert of American blues guitarist James Blood Ulmer, that has already been sold out yesterday, will be held at 22.00.

The last festival program for today will be the club performance of the Macedonian-Bosnian ensemble in Jazzbina as a part of the Late Nite Stage program.

Tickets for all concerts of XX1st Jazz Festival, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, except for James Wood Ulmer’s concert, can still be purchased in the box office at Dom policije venue, at the Festival Center.
