Uri Caine Trio: Calibrated Thickness

American pianist and composer Uri Caine has released a new album named Calibrated Thickness with his new trio with drummer Clarence Penn and double bassist Mark Helias.

Calibrated Thickness consists of 15 Uri Caine originals. The premiere performance with Penn and Helias is taking place tonight at the Smalls Club in New York and you can join the concert via live stream at this link starting 19.30.

Caine, Penn and Helias will be promoting the new album on European tour in October at concerts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and The Neatherlands.

We will get to listen to the Uri Caine Trio on 4 November at the 20th Jazz Fest Sarajevo, when they will perform as one of the 12 ensembles of John Zorn’s Bagatelles Marathon Sarajevo. Jazz Fest audiences already had the chance to listen to Mark Helias in 2006 at the opening concert of the 10th Jazz Fest Sarajevo edition, where he performed as a member of Dejan Terzić’s ensemble Underground.

Tickets for John Zorn’s Bagatelles Marathon Sarajevo and all other concerts of this year’s Jazz Fest can be bought at special, Friendly Prices, at the link tickets.
