Musical journey to unexpected places

Norwegian-Austrian duo Arve Henriksen and Christian Fennesz will be performing at Bosanski kulturni centar on 6th November within this year’s Jazz Fest, offering festival visitors an opportunity to witness an original creation through musical dialogue of two authentic artists.

Arve Henriksen has a prominent place on Europe’s scene of modern and improvised music. Jazz Fest’s audiences have twice enjoyed the gentle and unreal world of Henriksen’s meditations, first time at Jazz Fest in 2005 when he held an excellent duet performance  with Jan Bang and in 2010 when he played a solo concert within the music event Xenophonia.

This time Henriksen will introduce a «duo in progress» with Austrian native Christian Fennesz, a guitarist and electronic music producer known for his long and prolific collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto, who also worked with artists like David Sylvian and Mike Patton (Faith No More).

Both Henriksen and Fennesz are much valued on the music scene, their names can be found on many musical releases. In Sarajevo they are about to take Jazz Fest’s audience on a journey to unexpected places of their own imagination.

Double bill tickets for the concert of Arve Henriksen and Christian Fennesz can be bought or reserved at www.jazzfest.ba. The popular ticket allows visitors to attend not only the concert of these two artists, but also the one of great Polish trumpet player Tomasz Stanko and his ensemble, also to be held on November 6th at BKC, starting at 22:00.
