Cecile McLorin Salvant announces new CD

Cecile McLorin Salvant is going to play a second sold out concert tonight at Ronnie Scott’s in London, while her record label Mack Avenue Records is announcing the coming out of her new release For One to Love for beginning of September.

This will be her third CD and first after the 2013 Woman Child album that got her a Grammy nomination in the category Best Vocal Jazz Album.

The new album brings five original McLorin pieces composed for this release, Burt Bacharach‘s  Wives and Lovers, the song What’s The Matter Now as well as Le Mal De Vivre that will be sung in French. For the new release Cecile also recorded Growlin’ Dan by Blanche Calloway, the older sister of Cab Calloway who used to be the first woman to lead a completely male orchestra.

Next week, on 09 June Cecile McLorin Salvant will be performing in Paris at the famous Olympia Hall together with pianist Jacky Terrasson who played a solo concert at 11th Jazz Fest Sarajevo in 2007.
