The Bad Plus recorded an album with Joshua Redman

The Bad Plus members, bassist Reid Anderson, pianist Ethan Iverson and drummer  David King announced a new album which they recorded with saxophonist Joshua  Redman.

The collaboration started in 2011 when they went on stage together for a week of performances at New York’s Blue Note and following concerts at festivals like the one they played in 2012 at Europe’s biggest jazz festival North Sea. New album’s repertoire contains a song played back then called Silence Is The Question.

“Playing with The Bad Plus has allowed me to explore a part of my playing, and my musical heritage, that I’ve never before accessed in quite the same way with any other group. The adventure with The Bad Plus pushes me toward the fringes and draws me into the core”, said Redman.

Our audience had the chance to watch Joshua Redman at 11th Jazz Fest Sarajevo in 2007 in a trio performance with double bassist Omer Avital and drummer Greg Hutchinson, and The Bad Plus in 2012 at the 16th Jazz Fest Sarajevo.
