Jazz Fest introduced traditional music in it’s former editions, performances of Amira Medunjanin, Arkul, Damir Imamović and Halka. It’s 18th festival edition brings a unique project of the brothers Teofilović and Miroslav Tadić, probably the most successful guitarist born in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Their joint album Vidarica consists of traditional songs from Dalmatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo, as well as forgotten songs or once preserved just as fragments that these three masters of music from the Balkan put a completely new light on, revealing a secret world of Balkan’s music heritage.
Ratko and Radiša Teofilović recorded their first traditional music takes in the mid 90’s and have performed at concerts and festivals in Europe and the United States since. They released their first album in 1998 under the suitable name Čuvari sna (Dream Keepers) followed by their 2002 album Sabazorski vetrovi.
The collaboration with improviser, composer and top instrumentalist born in Tuzla Miroslav Tadić was immortalized two years ago on the CD Vidarica, that might not have heeling powers as the name suggests, but will definitely not leave anybody halfhearted about arrangements and interpretation.
At Jazz Fest Sarajevo Brothers Teofilović and Miroslav Tadić are going to perform on 07 November bringing a guaranteed unusual music experience that you can still book tickets for with a 20% discount at this link.
