The Spring Quartet is a new ensemble on the music scene that will be introduced next spring at a series of concerts through the United States and an European tour that will follow.
The quartet gathers top musicians of all generations – one of the most influential drummers of the 20th century and artist with a five decade long career Jack DeJohnette, Grammy Award winner Joe Lovano labeled by the New York Times as “one of the most important musicians in history of jazz”, rising star, bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding who was the first jazz musician ever to win a Grammy in the category Best New Artist and the forth ensemble member, Argentinian pianist Leo Genovese.
Some of the concerts announced for February and March next year are already sold out. The Spring Quartet will perform in Canada as well and in France where first concerts have already been announced for the end of March 2014.
Jack DeJohnette will play a concert with his Group on 07 November at the 17th Jazz Fest with a special guest, multi-instrumentalist Don Byron.
