Montreal Jazz Festival starts today

At Canada’s Quebec the Montreal Jazz Festival is going to start today where, until 07 July more than 3000 musicians will play a total of 450 concerts.

This year’s, 34th edition of the respectable festival will be opened by a lecture or Small School of Jazz – La petite école du jazz, followed by 29 free of charge concerts only during today. This number will rise to 300 during the festival.

Indoor concerts will start during late afternoon hours. Opening concerts will be played by the Charles Lloyd Quartet with Jason Moran, Reuben Rogers and Eric Harland, followed by a performance of the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Chucho Valdes & The Afro-Cuban Messengers, Ravi Coltrane Quartet and many more.

The Montreal Jazz Festival is the biggest international jazz festival in the world, in 2004 it was listed among Guinness World Records. As the festival grew over the last three decades, so did it’s program consisting today of different music styles.
