Australian oud player of Egyptian heritage Joseph Tawadros has released a new album Chameleons of The White Shadow consisting of 14 compositions recorded at Avatar studio in New York.
This is Tawadros’ tenth album. In its creation were involved banjo player Bela Fleck, bassist Richard Bona, organist Joey DeFrancesco and percussionist Jamens Tawadros. Special gusts on this release are American funk and soul legend, vibraphonist Roy Ayers, reed multi-instrumentalist Howard Johnson and accordionist Jean-Louis Martinier.
The Bosnian and Herzegovinian audience listened to the virtuoso artist Joseph Tawadros twice at the Jazz Fest Sarajevo. First time in 2010 when he played an outstanding solo concert, and second the following year when he performed in a duet with brother James.
We also had the chance to listen to two other Tawadros’ collaborators on this album within Jazz Fest’s programs. Richard Bona performed in 2006 at the 10th Jazz Fest with his group, and in 2011 he opened the 15th festival edition with a solo concert. American organist Joey DeFrancesco performed last year at our festival as a member of the Miles Smiles ensemble.
