The quartet of the famous American guitarist John Abercrombie will be present the third day of the 15th Jazz Fest Sarajevo on the scene of the Bosnian Cultural Center.
Abercrombie is a tireless experimenter, firmly related to the jazz tradition, but persistent in pushing forward the genre boundaries. In the long career of more than four decades, he published nearly 50 albums, out of which more than 30 as a leader of various bands. He has collaborated with some of the best representatives of jazz, among others, with Marc Copland, Jan Garbarek, Ralph Towner, John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette.
The quartet, which will present itself on 3rd of November consists of top musicians with whom Abercrombie recorded his last album, Wait Till You See Her: violinist Mark Feldman, bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Joey Baron. This ensemble brings melodic and for an ear very pleasant sound mix of easy but experienced jazz improvisations on guitar and innovative performances on the violin, which although not seen as classic jazz instrument, in the hands of Mark Feldman its style is set into new dimension.
