The two musicians have been playing together for more than two decades and All About Jazz described one of their performances in Rome with the words “pure ecstasy”, “energetic”, “acrobatic” and “an unbelievable duo” which is hard to categorize; it displays so much mastery that it opens the doors to an unreal reality in which there is a natural alternation of rhythms from Africa to Jamaica.

A few years ago the famous drummer and percussionist Hamid Drake performed at the festival with saxophonist Mats Gustafsson and this year he returns to the Jazz Fest Sarajevo stage in a duo with vibraphonist Pasquale Mirra who is considered to be one of the most amusing European vibraphonists and a unique appearance on the Italian scene.
