Everything is ready for the beginning of the 20th edition of the international music festival Jazz Fest Sarajevo 2016, which brings more than 30 performances on four festival stages to its audiences, among them European and world premieres, concerts of top artists from different continents and a diverse selection of music.
The anniversary celebration of music in Sarajevo, which will last for five days, kicks off tonight at Bosanski kulturni centar at 20.00 with a concert of one of the most creative Norwegian pianists, producers and composers Bugge Wesseltoft.
This artist marks the 20th anniversary of his project New Conception of Jazz and brings his own new conception of jazz, with an exceptional female ensemble of four musicians from Norway and Nepal, who play saxophone, guitar, tabla and drums.
After them, also on stage of the BKC, at 22.00 Rob Mazurek and his Sao Paulo Underground will be performing music that brings modern, highly advanced music and the smell of Brazil’s Sao Paulo streets, with which they are going to take the audience of their Sarajevo concert on an exceptional musical journey.
Tickets for concerts taking place at Bosanski kulturni centar can be bought at the BKC box office, while tickets for the Nitai Hershkovits concert at Vijećnica can be bought on the spot 60 minutes before concert start.
Jazz Fest is inviting you to celebrate with us the 20th anniversary and enjoy music that makes Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, for at least this week, a better and more beautiful place to live in.
This year again, most of Jazz Fest’s concerts will be broadcasted by TV Mezzo, the most influential, international TV station when it comes to classic music, opera and jazz, whose program is being watched by tens of millions of households in 44 countries of the World.
