African artists Aziza Brahim and Noura Mint Seymali opened the 31st edition of international music festival Druga godba in Ljubljana at Cankarjev dom last night.
By introducing music talents from around the world to the audience, Druga godba found itself on the list of most important world music festivals second year in a row according to the magazine Songlines. This year’s edition offers 15 performances at 9 different concert venues until 30 May.
Tonight, Druga godba is presenting the charismatic French-Moroccan singer Zahra Hindi, followed by Tune-Yards from the United States, Yasmine Hamdan from Lebanon, Hayvanlar Alemi from Turkey and Sons of Kemet from Great Britain while on Saturday, last festival day Božo Vrećo from Bosnia and Hercegovina is going to present his solo vocal performance.
