In the first November week 18th Jazz Fest Sarajevo is going to present extraordinary artists like vocalist Gregory Porter, guitarist John McLaughlin, trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf or bassist Avishai Cohen who are going to perform for the first time in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Another premier performance will also be the one of Bill Frisell, Grammy winner for Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 2004 and one of leading jazz guitarists since the late 80’s when Pat Matheny recommended him to Paul Motian to participate instead of himself on the album Psalm that has cult status today.
Frisell is an eclectic artist whose music is rich with elements of various genres. His performances are being praised on regular basis by critics and audiences, especially his current project Guitar in the Space Age! that he is going to present on 06 November at the Bosnian Cultural Center. The audience will hear an album that is set for release at beginning of October, it will be Frisell’s 39th release under his name.
