Marc Ducret – the uncompromising vizard

The international music festival Jazz Fest Sarajevo 2013 that will be held from 05 to 10 November, beside the main program at the Bosnian Cultural Centre, is going to introduce a series of concerts at the Youth Theatre, among others the Marc Ducret Trio.

The French self thought guitarist Marc Ducret has been on the scene for almost four decades. He started his career by playing with various bands, traditional ensembles and vocalists. He played at the French National Jazz Orchestra and has collaborated with Didier Lockwood, Miroslav Vitous, Django Bates and Tim Bern with whom he recorded a series of studio releases.

Prone to experimenting, he always remains exceptionally charismatic with an unusual expressiveness on stage. Ducret’s performances are exciting, always taking the audience on unexpected musical journeys.

He formed his own band at the beginning of the nineties focused on exploring the music of the sixties. His tetralogy Tower, inspired by the structure of Vladimir Nabokov‘s novel Ada, was recorded with different ensembles and released between 2009 and 2013.

The Marc Ducret Trio concert will be held on 09 November at 7 PM. Tickets can be booked here for the pre-sale prize of 12 KM.
