Latin Grammy nomination for De Holanda

Brazilian bandolinist Hamilton de Holanda is among nominees for this year’s, 14th in a row Latin Grammy Award.

De Holanda is among nominees for the prestigious award in the category Best Instrumental Album with his latest release recorded with a trio, percussionist Thiago da Serrinha and bassist André Vasconcelos.

The album was released this spring and well received by critics who called it a “masterful juncture of virtuosity and musicality” while it earned lots of stars by the audience in numerous charts and web portals as well. The glamorous award ceremony will be held on 21 November in Las Vegas.

This Brazilian artist’s previous album Brasilianos 3, recorded with a quintet in 2002, was nominated in the categories Best Instrumental Album and Best Engineered Album.

At the beginning of November he is coming to Europe, on 07 November he will be playing a solo concert at the 17th Jazz Fest Sarajevo. Tickets for this and the rest of the concerts for this year’s festival can be booked here.
