The most wanted Norwegian guitarist Eivind Aarset performed at the Jazz Fest three times so far as a member of different ensembles. This year he will be introducing his own project.
He appeared as a guest musician on more then 150 albums of various artists like Cher, Ray Charles, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Mike Mainieri, Arild Andersen, Dhafer Youssef or Django Bates. He played guitar on Cher’s 1996 album It’s a Man’s World and Ray Charles’ 1996 release Strong Love Affair.
His 1998 debut Electronique Noir released under his name was labeled by The New York Times and by other leading jazz magazines like Jazz Times and Jazzwise “One of the best post-Miles electric jazz albums”. Releases that followed established his status as one of the most exciting and unique guitarists on the European scene.
Eivind Aarset performed at the Jazz Fest with different projects of Tunisian artist Dhafera Youssefa in 2003 and 2006 and in 2007 as a member of Norvegian Jazzland Community. He released four albums for the record label Jazzland including Sonic Codex. His latest album Dream Logic was released last year for the prestigious record label ECM. He will perform at Bosanski kulturni centar on 08 November with his quartet introducing his latest project.
