Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen has prepared a true delicacy for admirers of his work – he released a 7 piece set named Solidification for the record label Rune Grammofon.
It contains 7 LPs, his previous three albums released for this record label: Sakuteiki (2001), Chiaroscuro (2004) and Strjon (2007) including bonuses and his new album Chron. The previous albums were printed on 6 black classic vinyls while the new album was released on white vinyl.
This truly special release to discography fans contains a 24 page liner notes by Fiona Talkington and John Kelman, as well as two DVDs with 56 compositions of the mentioned albums as 16/44 files, hi-res FLAC files and original master quality 24/44 or 24/96 WAV files.
Arve Henriksen is one of the most creative and most innovative improvisers of today. We listened to him in Sarajevo twice at the Jazz Fest: he played an excellent concert in 2005 with Jan Bang, and a solo concert in 2010 within the music happening Xenophonia.
