Blue Room is the name of a new album by American jazz singer and guitarist Madeleine Peyroux, it is inspired by Ray Charles‘ album Modern Sounds in Country & Western Music.
Peyroux reinterprets on the new release songs from the mentioned Ray Charles’ 1962 album and compositions from artists like Randy Newman and Leonard Cohen.
Blue Room was produced by Larry Klein, well known for award winning collaborations with Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman and Herbie Hancock.
Peyroux recorded the new album with bass player David Pilch, drummer Jay Bellerose, guitarist Dean Parks and pianist Larry Goldings, with string arrangements by Vince Mendoza.
