The Monterey Jazz Festival is organizing the third North American tour, that will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the festival.
At 45 concerts in 40 cities in USA and Canada following Grammy winners will perform: vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater, double bassist Christian McBride, pianist Benny Green, drummer Lewis Nash, saxophonist Chris Potter and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire.
The first concert will be held tonight in Santa Cruz, California. The nine week tour will be held venues like New York’s Blue Note Club, Kennedy Center in Washington, Epcon Center in Calgary, Canada or the Chicago Symphony Center.
The Monterey Jazz Festival was founded in 1958 and is one of the consecutively running jazz festivals in the world.
