Renaissance is the new, long expected Marcus Miller album released by Concord Jazz on 7th August for the American market. The album consists of 13 original compositions recorded during last and this year.
This is the 8th studio album of this American producer, composer, multiinstrumentalist and double Grammy winner. His collaborators on this record, among others were, trumpeter Sean Jones, pianist Federico Gonzalez Pena, guitarist Adam Rogers, saxophonist Alex Han and drummer Louis Cato. Miller’s rare solo records influenced musical expressions of the time of their release, critics and fans expectations for Renaissance are the same.
Marcus Miller is mainly a bassist, he also plays the clarinet, keyboards, saxophone and guitar. He played aside Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Luther Vandros and worked on albums of Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Wayne Shorter, Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, Frank Sinatra, Chaka Khan and many more. His artistry has been documented on over 500 tracks he collaborated on.
The album was published in Europe this spring, first part of the promotional tour at Europe’s festivals and concert halls ended at beginning of June. Take a look at the Warsaw performance held in May this year.
