American multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee and young Norwegian bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten will open the 53rd edition of the Ljubljana Jazz Festival with their joint concert.
The Ljubljana Jazz Festival is one of the oldest festivals of it’s kind in world, within the next three days it will present well known, world scene names like John Scofield, Dee Dee Bridgewater or Neneh Cherry, as well as young Slovenian and international musicians whose time is still to come.
The festival went through different phases and different program orientations during its history, and with its 50th edition the festival brings something new and fresh in the program defining at the same time program direction for the next decade.
