Piano player Jacky Terrasson has signed with Universal Music France.
The collaboration between well respected label and the talented musician will be officially sealed with the first record that is going to be released during autumn 2012, at which time we will also celebrate 20th anniversary of Jacky’s career.
Terrasson’s extraordinaire burst upon the jazz scene happened in 1993 after he won the Thelonious Monk Piano Competition, since then he consistently recorded remarkably free-spirited music. After recording 10 CDs for Blue Note Records, and the album Push for Concord Jazz, Terrasson continues to create dynamic pianism that opens new doors of creative technique.
This American pianist of French heritage introduced himself to the local jazz audience in 2007 at the 11th Jazz Fest Sarajevo. Enjoy his interpretation of Charlie Chaplin’s “Smile” performed with a trio with bass player Ben Williams and drummer Jamireom Williamson.
