In Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt (The House of World Cultures), the festival of Worldtronics is held again this year, which is considering, through a series of concerts, DJ sets, exhibitions, presentations and workshops, the future of contemporary electronic music.
In four days of the festival, from 30th November to 4th December, Worldtronics 2011 will make a small cross-section of current Scandinavian scene through the representatives of the new, so called Skweee genre, which combines synth melodies and bass sections with funk and soul, and as a counterpoint to that a new developments in the field of electronic music in Ghana and Colombia will be presented .
The program will be rounded up with a conference on postcolonial piracy, which will attempt to explore the global practice of ‘piracy’ and with it related the context of aesthetics, originality and authorship.
