Kurt Elling is returning to Jazz Fest after six years to introduce his latest album Passion World. The release has already been hailed by critics as a Grammy Award winner for best vocal jazz album, a category in which the American vocalist was nominated for all of his previous 10 releases.
According to opinions of critics and the general public, Elling is one of leading American jazz vocalists, who won the Grammy award for the record he introduced at his first concert in Sarajevo in 2009, the same year when the album was released.
Tonight at 22.00 at Bosanski kulturni centar Elling and his ensemble will take the audience on a journey through the world of love and passion performing among others Elling’s original compositions.
Saturday 7 November is the 5th day of 19th Jazz Fest Sarajevo 2015 and one more “double bill” night. By purchasing the popular double bill ticket, festival visitors have the chance to enjoy two concerts at Bosanski kulturni centar: beside the Kurt Elling concert at 22.00, also the performance of Vladimir Kostadinović’s quartet at 20.00.
Kostadinović is not only a successful and wanted drummer, he is also an experienced author and a tireless leader who is coming to the Jazz Fest with his international ensemble to perform the repertoire of his new album The Left Side of Life.
The club program of 19th Jazz Fest starts tonight again at 23.30 presenting the Bosnian and Herzegovenian “home band”, joined by regional guest soloists.
The double bill tickets – one ticket is valid for both tonight’s concerts – can be bought at the box office at BKC and tickets for the club program at the entrance of Club Monument.
