The international organization Jazz Journalists Association that gathers media professionals who promote jazz and related music, has announced the nominations for the annual Jazz Awards for works published in the previous year.
More then 300 members of the organization nominated musicians in 28 categories and journalists and media in 9 categories. On 1 May winners of the 18th awards edition will be announced in the music categories, while the winners of media categories will be announced in June.
You can see all nominations here. Muhal Richard Abrams, McCoy Tyner, Randy Weston and Wayne Shorter are nominated for the Lifetime Achievement in Jazz.
