Paul Anka announces new album

American vocalist and writer of the timeless hit My Way Paul Anka is going to release a new album by the end of spring.

The release date is still unknown but it is for sure that the album will be released by Sony and that its repertoire will consist of duets Anka recorded with artists like Tom Jones, Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra or Charles Aznavour.

At the same time as the album, a fascinating biography of Paul Anka will be released by St. Martin’s Press/Macmillan. The new album and book will be promoted on summer tour within which Anka will perform in Europe as well.

Anka, Canadian and naturalized American since 1990 released his first song in 1957 when he was 14 years old. The single Diana followed the same year, a song that is today the most sold song by any Canadian artist. At the end of 50ties he was one of the biggest teen idols of all times and went on tour with Buddy Holly in Great Britain and Australia.

In a career almost six decades long, Anka took an indelible place in popular culture. He was mentioned in the well known British series Monthy Python’s Flying Circus, and parts of his secretly recorded tirade against his crew and band members were literally quoted in the 2007 movie Ocean’s Thirteen.
