Universal Music will release the whole musical heritage of the composer and multi-instrumentalist Frank Zappa, 60 digitally remastered releases.
Zappa’s widow Gail confirmed that “they made us the offer we could’t refuse”, and that the Zappa Family Trust signed a contract with Universal Music Enterprises.
Universal announced high quality releases, first series of which will include 12 albums expected to be released on 31 July. These are early works of this genius American artist recorded between 1966 and 1972 for Barking Pumpkin Records.
Till the end of this year four other series of 12 albums each are expected to be released.

- Cruising With Ruben & The Jets
- Uncle Meat
- Hot Rats
- Burnt Weeny Sandwich
- Weasels Ripped My Flesh

- Just Another Band From L.A.
Zappa released 62 albums in his career. Between 1994 and last years, 29 albums were released postmortem by Zappa Family Trust, including tribute albums.
